The old saying about making sausages / laws applies to songwriting --- if you know what went into it, it's ruined for you. But, I'll make an exception for this tune.The first verse of this song is, almost word-for-word, a standup comedy joke I used to do. But, one night I put some minor chords behind it and it became the most searing, depressing blues lyrics I ever wrote! For pretentious navel gazers who like to analyze lyrics and theorize about comedy / tragedy, this is probably pretty interesting.
I liked the joke and love the song.
