do
DETROIT IRON

I wrote Detroit Iron in late '86 / early '87.  Soon after, I started doing solo shows, mostly in Alexandria, and people seemed to enjoy it.  Especially, guitar legend Jimmy Thackery.  By 1989, our friend, filmmaker Steve Graham decided to loan his talents to making a really cool video of it:

A few years later, a sitcom used some of these Metropolis clips in its opening.  But we were first!

In 2000, Jim made good on his longtime threat to record it.  In 2001, Sinner Street came out.  Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.  It's a classic, even despite my song (some blues purists objected to it being included)!

In subsequent years, the song appeared on THE ESSENTIAL JIMMY THACKERY

Jimmy Thackery LIVE  (That record company never paid me)

And, LIVE IN DETROIT

Good song.  Great guitar player.  Great friend!
