Denis McDonough.  From NYC to NC and back.  Classic standup.  Large head.

My 1964 APBA Baseball for Windows replay

Jimmy Thackery.  Legendary DC (originally) guitarist who survives.  Writer and singer of that race music that's stirring up all our youth.  Healin' Ground is a wonderful CD.

   - I've seen Neil 38 times.  I thought I was his biggest fan.  Until I got on the internet and found these people.   is my favorite since 1994.

I don't want to be an old square, though.  Sure, a lot of the music today is vulgar and depressing.  But, the vast majority are good kids.  I find the positive attitude and clean cut appearance of this band very refreshing!

Marshall Henry.  My favorite DC based comic and standup guru.  Compulsively writes and discards great material.  If you're feeling sadistic, tell him he's great, but needs 10 more minutes of killer stuff.

My Comedy Oasis in Richmond.  Great friends / great talent.

Retrosheet.org - Every box score since 1960.  And 1911!  Heaven for baseball nerds.

Odyssey!  Great talent.  An actual star on the rise.  And such a good friend that he named his website after me!

JV Restaurant.  Surviving treasure.  Wednesday open mic with Vernon is my favorite.

Jimmy Meritt.  Brilliant DC comic.  Colorful Converse All-Stars.  Half my age.  That's depressing!

Phil Hendrie's radio show is flat out genius.  Get the Backstage Pass so you can listen and download when you want.  And not listen to his psychotic ramblings between bits.

JustStrings.com did a great job finding unusual electric guitar strings for me, selling them cheap, and shipping fast.  The lady on the phone was very nice too.  Highly recommended!

Phil Hogan.  Great standup from Southside VA.  Great guitar too.  One of the nicest guys in comedy.  WooHoo!

Dave O'Gara.  I've only seen him once or twice, and gone away feeling that I have a long way to go before I'm in his league.

Cori Healy.  More talents than those nauseating, old Steve Allen intros.  And she doesn't drag Jayne Meadows with her to ruin everything!

Most classic TV isn't nearly as good as we remember.  Green Acres is funnier than ever!  My younger comedy friends literally don't get it.  Poor kids.   Their idea of  surreal TV is ...

, a great show and a lot better than it's first go 'round.  But, it's still not what I'd call "subtle".  Maybe I resent it because every other episode, one of my jokes shows up.  Which shouldn't be surprising, considering that we're all just ...

wannabes.  Season VII is out on DVD.  That's my favorite.

Strangers With Candy was incredible.  Here is another good site.  When Comedy Central cancelled it, I stopped watching the network.  Which is dumb, because now I never remember to watch Stephen Colbert's show.  The good news is that they are making a movie!

Cool Strangers With Candy fact : Orlando drives a car identical to my old '72 Olds!

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is another all-time great show cancelled by Comedy Central (or whatever it was called back then).
